Luke Bryan in Munich, Germany - California Globetrotter

Drunk on Luke Bryan in Munich!

IMG_4959I listen to 90% country music and 10% everything else these days. As any normal person, I have my favorites. I have my favorite men who make love to my ears and serenade me: Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, Justin Moore, Randy Houser and more.

And now guess what! You guessed it! Another of my favorite country singers just happens to be in Munich again this week!! I honestly don’t know what it is! In the States, I was always at the wrong place at the wrong time and I could never see my favorite country singers! Then, I move HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD and now they follow me to Germany! Hey, I ain’t gonna complain! I’m happy!

You would think that an American Country artist would only attract expat Americans, but you would be wrong. Surprisingly, there were a lot of German speakers at the concert grooving to his country charm.

These concerts are on a much smaller scale. Luke Bryan’s concert sold out Kesselhaus in Munich, which is standing room only. I would say there was about 4-500 people packed in like sardines. A small concert this size makes it feel more up close and personal.

IMG_4963We got in line early enough and we were able to get right up to the stage almost! We were only 2 people back from the stage so we had amazing views of Luke Bryan!! We were so close, I’m damn sure he pointed directly at me! 😉

He was so animated and lively! Hands down one of the most amazing and fun concerts I have ever been to! He really gets the crowd going and actually spoke to the crowd several times. He’s really quite funny!

He started the concert off with “That’s My Kind of Night” and sang other songs like “All My Friends Say”, “Crash My Party”, “Do I” and more. He sang all of his major hits, but left out one of my favorites – “She Gets Me High”.

Check out my video of “Drunk on You”!

All them other boys wanna wind you up and take you downtown
But you look like the kind that likes to take it way out
Out where the corn rows grow, row, row my boat
Floatin’ down the Flint River, catch us up a little catfish dinner
Gonna sound like a winner, when I lay you down and love you right
Yeah, that’s my kind of night!

He took a few minutes to play some old school country music. He sand an old song by Alabama called “Mountain Music”, as well a little Brooks and Dunn – “My Next Broken Heart”.

It’s only fitting that he ended the concert with  “I Don’t Want This Night to End” only to be encouraged to do an Encore. He came back one last time and sang “Country Girl Shake It For Me” and all the women (including myself!) got rawled up with him shaking his thang to the music!

Check out my video of Luke Bryan DANCING & being funny!

Shake it for the young bucks sittin’ in the honky-tonks
For the rednecks rockin’ ’til the break of dawn
For the DJ spinnin’ that country song
Come on, come on, come on
Shake it for the birds, shake it for the bees
Shake it for the catfish swimming down deep in the creek
For the crickets and the critters and the squirrels
Shake it to the moon, shake it for me girl, aww

Country girl, shake it for me girl,
Shake it for me girl, shake it for me
Country girl, shake it for me girl,
Shake it for me girl, shake it for me

I almost got to reach out and touch his hand but I was a split second too late! 😦 But I can definitely say I was sprayed a bit with the beer Luke Bryan was  drinking from a can as he sprayed the crowd at the end of the concert! That’s not weird or anything, right? 🙂

If you have never seen Luke Bryan in concert, then I definitely recommend it!! He was amazing!

At 14 I started traveling the world with my parents and was hooked! By 21 I was studying abroad in Heidelberg, Germany. By 26 I sold all of my belongings and bought a one way ticket to Germany to teach English. Little did I know, I'd meet the love of my life and end up traveling to the most romantic and idyllic towns in Europe and becoming a long-term expat in Bavaria! My name is Lorelei and I'm just your typical CaliGirl, Sunset Chaser, Fairytale Dreamer, Dress Lover, Traveloholic, Beer Drinker!
